WoW - Which Legion Zone Should You Do First?

Which Legion Zone is the Best To Start In?

The World of Warcraft Legion expansion is brilliant in many ways, one of which is that players will get to choose which zone they want to start in.

Instead of servers groaning under the strain of everyone jammed into one zone the population will be spread out across four zones.

Which zone is the best to start in though and what order makes the most sense?

What Order Should I Complete The Legion Zones?

Once you complete the initial quests you are given a choice of four different zones to start your Legion journey.

Val'Sharah Azsuna High Mountain Stormheim

The original plan, long, long ago was that Azsuna would be the logical starting point.   The story (and backstory) is built there, so if that is important to you then start in Azsuna.

Where you start won't affect the speed at which you level or your rewards as every zone scales to your level.  The order in which you play through Legion is completely up to you.

But... there's always a but...

Important Things To Consider While Leveling in Legion

In order to be ready for the end-game.  You need to have at least  a friendly reputation with the main faction in each of the four zones.   If you ever want to fly in Legion you will also need to get the Loremaster achievement in each zone, so why not do it now?

Get your reputation to friendly with the main faction in each zone. Do the Loremaster achievement if you want some day in Legion.

The Zones

Azsuna

The lands cursed by Azshara. Elves, Naga, Blue Dragons, Murlocs! If you love Elven and Blue Dragon lore, you'll love this.

High Mountain

Tauren vs Drogbar Deathwing lived here prior to his ahem... changes.  If you love Tauren, you'll love this.

Stormheim

The Valhalla of Vrykul If you liked Storm Peaks, you'll love this.

Val'Sharah

The Emerald Dream meets The Nightmare Incredible zone.  If you love Druids, you'll love this.
