More good news! It's Friday and for many of you the start of a long weekend.
Over 200 more people joined the Loading... mailing list and nearly 20,000 new readers took a look at the column on the web over the last month. We're talking hundreds of thousands of readers in our little MMOG group and millions of pageviews folks. Keep clicking and keep spreading the word! My most heartfelt thanks to you!
The World of Warcraft database is taking off with over 36,000 searches now in the books. What the db is really missing is comments. Please take a minute and comment on any quests you are familar with. One comment goes a long way to helping your fellow WoW players. DDO players should be checking out the Dungeons and Dragons Online database. It has more quests than Planters has peanuts.
While looking around for humorous media I came across a WoW movie that wasn't humorous at all, but boy is it well done. I would embed it, but the blog software we use doesn't seem to like embedded links. I leave it to you to click and watch R.E.T.U.R.N.
Over the next few days you may start to see some "in text" ads in our columns and content. You have likely seen them on other sites, denoted by a double line under a word that when you mouseover displays a text advertisement. We will be testing these out over the next 30 days. Feel free to send your comments to me. We have also discussed the idea of giving our members an option to subscribe to remove ads. Another idea was to allow our members to purchase the advertising space, in effect turning off the amount that they purchased for everyone. We could post the names of the good samaritans if they so wished.
Personally, I like advertisements when they are related to the site I am visiting. The DDO ads, Dark Messiah ads, etc. are actually something that I would click on out of interest on a site that I visited. The problem is that there simply are not enough of those ads yet to keep you from seeing some of the "filler" advertisements.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on advertising on TenTonHammer.com and especially what you think of allowing our members to purchase advertising space that would simply be "turned off" for everyone.
Have a great long weekend!

Every good guild needs a home. A home free of gold ads, secondary market farmers. Look no further than GuildPortal.com.
As always, thanks for visiting TenTonHammer.com,
