The World Cup final is on Sunday. Italian and French fans truly take "fanatic" to a whole new level. I don't know what happens in the town that you call home, but around here the Italians and French drive around like Michael Schumacher on crystal meth, flags of their countries flapping maniacally from the windows of their Peugeots and Camaros respectively, all the while screaming like scorpions have built a nest in their pubic hair.
When the World Cup started my group of chums all decided it would be more fun to pick the four teams you didn't want to see in the finals than the four that you did. We're a negative sort I guess, but I came out the winner, or loser, however you look at it. I chose Italy, France, Argentina and Portugal as the teams I would least like to see in the final four. I was but two Argentine penalty kicks away from a perfect score.
Three cheers and a round of clap for the good folks at Ultima Online for removing 15 Trillion in exploited gold pieces from their game. Booyah, oh ye who were once Lord British, Booyah! I haven't felt so good about UO since I heard our own Phil "Ralphabetsoup" Comeau was killed by a cow in the game. Cow tipping or a boy and his steer, you decide.
"Recently, we discovered a large number of checks for amounts over one million gold pieces. Checks were never intended to exist in denominations of more than a million. Unfortunately, these inflated checks have been used by exploiters to store extremely large amounts of gold. These checks have now been removed from the game.
This action has resulted in over 180 accounts being terminated and approximately 15 Trillion (15,000,000,000,000) gold pieces have been permanently removed from the game."
According to Raph Koster the value of this currency in the real world markets is $21 million dollars. I won't jump on my anti-gold soapbox, but I'm confident that $21 million could be better spent.
How would you spend $21 million? Discuss!
