This past week at TenTonHammer we focused on gold, money, and Warcraft. This came in the form of a few articles that covered the Remote Auction House, Profiteering, and Microtransactions. Which are all timed rather nicely since many players are really starting to stock up their in game bank accounts in preparation for Cataclysm.

Also this past week some of the hottest tickets in the video game world went on sale. What am I talking about? BlizzCon tickets of course! BlizzCon is the one, must attend event of the year and tickets went insanely fast yet again.

The World of Warcraft Remote Auction House

The latest purchasable feature of WoW lets players manage their in-game finances without ever logging in by Cyrak

The remote auction house is the latest upgrade to WoW. Players using a web browser or apple devices like iPhones or iPod touches can log in through their Battle.net accounts on the World of Warcraft Armory and access the auction house from any of their characters. The functionality of the remote AH is very similar to what's available in the unmodified WoW UI with a few important changes.

The World of Warcraft Auction House - Profiteering in Azeroth

Profiteering can be considered a negative term, but I am talking about it here in a positive way. After all WoW is a free market where players can buy and sell what they like at any price they set. Many times items are bought and sold simply to make a profit on the auction house, or farmed just for their sale. There is nothing wrong with that, but how do you find out what something is worth and what to sell it for? That’s what this article is all about, how to determine the price of common items in World of Warcraft.

Microtransactions in Cataclysm

Lil’ KT, Lil’ XT, and the Celestial Steed are these innocent novelty items or a glimpse into the future of WoW? Cataclysm will bring huge changes to raiding, with shorter raids, smaller dungeons, more accessible content, and micro transactions already thriving will Cataclysm provide the perfect storm for a microtransaction takeover?
