Blade & Soul Excitement - Hours Before Launch

by on Jan 15, 2016

We're hours away from Blade & Soul's early access launch, are you excited?

Blade & Soul arrived on the scene a few years back and has spread to everywhere, except North America. Tomorrow we're going to finally get our hands on the game that has been out for awhile now. I haven't had much exposure to it, but one of the things I'm sort of excited about and worried about at the same time, is that it's a rather mature game. It's not only a bit dated, but it also has gone through a lot of iterations.

Tomorrow, those who have bought in, will get early access to the game. Team Hammer will be hammering at the game hard, bringing you what we think of the final product, and some guides to help you play, but, more importantly, we'll be asking the question - are games that have gone through iteration better than games that haven't? We have some games that we can easily compare around with, for instance, ArcheAge was well fleshed out before it came to the states.

But that doesn't mean anyone liked it, or liked how it was brought over here. ArcheAge has had a lot of words said about it, many of which aren't good words. It had a long development track before it hit the western shores, and even that wasn't enough to sate the western audience. FFXIV went through an entire rebirth, where they shut the game down, rebuilt it, and relaunched it, making it one of the most successful MMOs of all time (in my opinion).

We'll know tomorrow and the weeks to come how it plays out for Blade & Soul. Notable MMO releases are getting fewer and fewer these days, as MOBAs have taken up most of the development time, and now with the success of CS:GO, we're seeing a move into the FPS genre. It's inevitable at some point, the cylical industry will return to MMOs, like it does with everything, but for the time being Blade & Soul will probably be the only big MMO for a few months, unless something crowdsourced pops into the mix.

Anyway, find out soon where it's at! Check us out tomorrow.
