I would write something pithy, deep or profound, but I don't possess the ability.
Instead I'll focus on what sorts of people like to play which classes and/or races in MMOGs. I have eight million reasons to start with World of Warcraft.
Today, the Druid.
Druid: Generally played by introverts and autistics. There is a better chance of Rosie O'Donnell saying something meaningful than there is of getting an invitiation to a group as a druid. The isolation provided by this class is comforting to the player who prefers to exist without human contact. Blizzard even went as far as to create a zone for druids that other classes had no reason to enter, Moonglade.
Ironically, the only Alliance race that can play this class is Night Elf. Night Elves are most often chosen by virtual nudists and/or the mentally challenged, which when thrown into the virtual soup with introverts makes for an especially distateful dish.
The only Horde race that can play this class is Tauren, which also happens to be the only "animal" race. Imagine your joy when you find out that not only can you play as an animal, but you can shapeshift into one. "I'm an animal...*shift*, I'm an animal....!!" Playing as a cow is even more ironic given that druids wear leather armour. A druid's love of nature is only surpassed by their ability to skin their next of kin to make a kilt.
The ability to shapeshift into animal forms often attracts those players who enjoy yiffing. Druids can often be found in their animal forms, dancing with one another, probably because nobody else would participate.
This class is considered the "Jack-of-all-trades", which in laymen's terms means "aren't very good at anything". Players are often fooled into thinking that they can fill many roles in a group. In reality, they can fill no role as well as another class giving the other players no reason to ever invite a druid when a more competent class can be found.
If you want to play a single player game where you can chat with hundreds of other players then the druid is a great choice! The only downside is that you don't solo very well. You'd better get a group of druids and try your luck.
