Persistent Worlds: Which Elite Specialization Are You Most Looking Forward To?

In this daily outlet, Lewis chooses one topic for discussion from Guild Wars 2. Today's: Elite specializations. Which are you most looking forward to and which do you think is next?

We already know what most of the elite specializations are called, but we know absolutely nothing of the druid (ranger), the tempest (elementalist), warrior (insert name), thief (insert name) or the engineer (the forge?). I have to say that at this moment in time, the reaper is still my favourite out of all the reveals and having seen the skills on the Desert Borderland, I'm super excited about the potential of shouts. Where the other elite specializations are concerned, I'd have to say I'm most curious about the thief. Although a druid reveal would be incredibly exciting (I main a ranger), I think I could comfortably guess what the specialization will offer: the staff more than likely providing some form of group support and control.

In contrast to the druid, I've really been wondering as to what ArenaNet can possibly do with the thief. My best guess was marksman, allowing the ranger to use a rifle and long ranged sniping -combined with poisons - similar to the marskman in Rift. However, based on the fact that existing elite specializations seem to be borrowing skill types from other professions, there's every chance the thief elite specialization could be the saboteur, utilising kits to offer greater potential in a PvE environment. Perhaps the torch would be a suitable fit when tying in with bombs and enhanced traps.

Going back to the druid briefly, I think the one thing that would make it more exciting than the thief reveal would be how ArenaNet decide to approach pets. I'm not sure it would be enough to simply add a new weapon and skills and leave the pet as is, so I've a hunch the pet will play a much greater part in what we can do. Perhaps our pets will become spirits that we utilise as one-time attacks rather than permanent fixtures that follow us about. Better yet, that they'll have greater skill synergy and can be customised.

Now I've had my say, which elite specialization are you most looking forward to and out of all the professions, which do you want to be revealed next?
