This past week in the World of Warcraft most of the news was about two big things. Firstly the last Wrath of the Lich King raid went live on Tuesday when the Ruby Sanctum opened its doors. Raiders rampaged in attempting to defeat Halion and many succeeded the very first night.

Next up was news that the Beta has started for Cataclysm and that invites were on their way to lucky players. This was confirmed Thursday as the first batch of invites went out. This resulted in a flood of information as players quickly posted as much as possible.

Also this our very own Mem looked at the issues surrounding the new Real ID system and Cyrak continued his series on getting gold in WoW with a guild on getting gold through gathering. All this an all of the weeks news can be found right here at TenTonHammer.com.

How to defeat the Ruby Sanctum

With the World of Warcraft 3.3.5 patch we see the release of another raid instance for players to try and complete before the release of Cataclysm. The new raid is designed in the same way as the Obsidian Sanctum in that it hosts three mini bosses and one main dragon boss. The fight is multi-phased and challenging for anyone not kitted out with Icecrown Citadel Gear. Luckily Byron "Messiah" Mudry is here to walk you through to fights so that as soon as the raid goes live you can get in there and grab some shiny new loot.

However, there may be a darker side to this seemingly benign feature designed to foster friendship in WoW; Real I.D requires users to divulge information that could put user’s security at risk.
