1. Daily Column

Welcome to a new week! First up, a quick update on my EVE Online "reintroduction". The initial learning curve is a cumbersome, plodding beast like a yoke around my neck. As I guide myself through the lines of tire spikes set in my path I recognize why this game is growing faster than Rosie O'Donnell's waistline. The game is so open-ended that you can muddle down one path for weeks only to gain a renewed attraction to the game by finding some other channel of advancement to tickle your gaming tongue.

My misguided beginning, blowing my hard earned ISK to purchase a ship that I thought would be great for mining, but that ended up being a better doorstop is now behind me. The game makes more sense to me now. It took some "work" to learn to "play", but it has been worth it. I have to wonder how many players simply didn't want to climb the initial mountain to get to the gold-mine.

Karen Hertzberg is doing what I find impossible, reintroducing herself to three games in three days. It takes me a month just to wrap my head around one title. First up for Karen is EverQuest 2. Unlike me, Karen is bridled by facts and grammar. It makes her article a joy to read. Vanguard and World of Warcraft are coming in the next couple of days.
