4.0 - Where to Hunt

Levels 1-10

Solo:  If your home city is Freeport, stay on the Isle until you’re level 8, then hit the Sunken City.

In Neriak or Gorowyn, everything you need is in your starting areas. Stick with the outpost quests and follow where they lead!

Group:  If you’re going to go group, there’s no better place than the Ruins for a group in the early levels.

There really isn't any true group content at these levels, but you can always quest share and get things done quickly.

Levels 10 – 19

Solo:  The Commonlands in between the Sprawl gates and the West Freeport Gates are the best for those between 12-16. There are hoards of solo grouped orcs here for you to hone your fighting technique on, gather decent loot, and get your Orc Hunter title.

Darklight Woods and Timorous Deep have quest lines that will easily take you up to level 20.

Group:  Just as before, not a whole lot of actual group content. Getting together in groups and doing quests a bit more higher than your level than you would do solo is the best way to spend that time.

Levels 20-29

Solo:  While there is still ample opportunity to hunt the Commonlands, specifically the Ruins of Val Marr for your starting armor quest, the big money and experience lies in the Thundering Steppes and Nektulos Forest.

Group:  When you’re talking 19-26, maybe 27, group, there is no other word than
the Fallen Gate. This place is literally spewing out heroic content from the moment you walk in. From 27 on into your low 30’s, it’s all about the Ruins of Varsoon.

Levels 30-39

Solo:  Without a shade of a doubt, the best place to solo from your early to mid 30’s is in the adventure pack The Bloodline Chronicles, specifically the Unearthing and Acquisition steps of this quest. Unearthing is filled with solo mobs ranging from 30-35, nice loot drops (get some decent plate armor upgrades here), and some decent rewards. After 35 you’ll want to switch to either Zek or EL

Groups:  For grouping you really have two choices, Zek and Enchanted Lands. Both are group
experience friendly with mobs ranging from 33-40^^^.

Levels 40-50

Solo:  Feerrott will cover you pretty much through 45, if you want it to. There are a TON of solo quest opportunities here and the rewards are actually not only worthwhile, but valuable if you wind up selling them. After you hit 45, you could hit Everfrost or Lavastorm and start working on that, but your best bet is to hit the beaches of the Sinking Sands and start working on your Maj’Dul factions.

Group:  The Gulch of Thule is the furthest area away from the docks in the Feerrott. It’s a small tract of land that is inhabited by both solo and Heroic mobs ranging 41-45^^^ as well as an Epic mob that spawns from time to time. From 45 on, Cazic Thule is great. The mobs range from 45-49 ^^^ here and it’s pretty much a leveling bonanza for a decent group.

Levels 50-60

Solo:  The Sinking Sands provides your best opportunities for great solo xp. There is a ton of solo content here ranging from 46-55. At 55, the Pillars of Flame is your best bet. The level range back here runs from 53-57 and is a great place to just run around killing. Be careful though. This zone is chock full of monsters and they love to path wide.

Group:  The Sinking Sands offers a menagerie of opportunities to level as a group. The best hunting for groups however resides in the Clefts of Rujark. With level ranges from 51-54^^^’s, named Orcs, and some seriously legendary loot this is a great hunting spot. When your group hits level 52’ish, it would be advisable to find the War Room and just run little circles around it. At 56’ish though, you’ll want to move on to bigger and better things. The Roost has mobs ranging from 56-59^^^ with a few named thrown in.

Levels 60-70

Solo:  The Vultak Scavaging Site is the best place to hunt with mobs around 59-60^. Once you get to about 63-64’ish, you’ll want to move into the Barren sky. The first island you come to, The Isle of Desolation, has enough solo 63’s and 64’s that you can spend a lot of time here. The loot is rather decent to sell as well. Once you get a little combat under your belt and you’re willing to try something a bit more challenging, head over to Blackwind Isle. There you’ll encounter a field of Aviak’s ranging from 64-66.

Group:  Starting off in Tenebrous Tangle, you’ll want to hit the Sanctum of the Scaleborn. There are a large amount of 61-64^^^ mobs here and of course, a few named. When you get to about 64’ish, you’ll want to move into the Barren Sky and start working on the Nest. Mobs in here range from 63-67^^ and ^^^. The loot is well worth it though and there are a few named mobs if you’re feeling lucky.

Levels 70-80

Solo: Tier 8 has quite a bit of solo content. Most of the quests in the overland zones are completely soloable and give out great experience and rewards. Start out in Kylong Plains and do the quests on the dock and up at Teren's Grasp. You'll quickly outgrow this area and will want to seek out greener pastures in the Fens of Nathsar. Quest areas are going to located around the sokokar posts with the various faction groups. You'll be at least half way through your 70s by the time you are done in Fens, so you'll be heading out to Kunzar Jungle and Jarsath Wastes. I prefer spending more time in Kunzar than Jarsath because the quests are better.

Group: Some of the best group zones in Rise of Kunark expansion are within Kunzar Jungle. Sebilis, Chardok, Charasis are a few of my favorites.
