style="font-weight: bold;">Disclaimer:
As of July 25, 2007, the Pantheon of the Ancients quest
series is
bugged.   Sometimes the mobs won't spawn, or the quest won't
update, or other various bugs.  Some quests may be
completable,
but proceed at your own risk.

The Avatar of Valus

The Avatar of Valus can be found in the second cubby on the left in
the Corridor of the Pure.  Head there now. Once again, kill
the
Champions outside the cubby lest they cause you problems later on.

Valus is the Lawgiver.  Apparently.  She's not a big
fan of anyone trying to "trick" the system.  She believes
everyone deserves a fair chance, and it is not up to any one mortal
person to decide what is fair for any transgression.  She'd
make a great politician, but wouldn't last long in modern-day society.

Anyway, back to the point.  Accept her quest, and let's get
started.

Maintain an
Impartial Mind

Easier said than done: "Maintain an Impartial Mind."  Bah.
 I say let's be href="http://media.tentonhammer.com/vanguard/gallery/albums/album64/accused.sized.jpg"> title="The Accused"
style="border: 0px solid ; width: 150px; height: 153px; float: right;"

partial.  Let's punt all the gnomes and hit on all the high
elves.  But alas, for the purpose of this quest; assuming one
wants to actually complete the quest, we'll play by the rules.
 This time.

Head back to the Lair of Tyrashnira.  Again, you should be
able to invis all the way over, but if not, you can fight back.
It is pretty good experience in the Pantheon of the Ancients,
after all.

Once in Tyrashnira's Lair, go on to Theindal's cubby.  It's
the last one on the right.  If you invised over solo, now
would be the time to say to yourself "oh crap," and ask the rest of
your group to come over.  You'll need to get rid of those
Champions, is why.  Four out of five Vanguard veterans agree
that two Champions of the Pantheon cannot be defeated by a solo level
26 adventurer.  But go ahead and try if you like.

Once in Theindal's cubby you'll see a wretched looking soul (pictured
above) called simply "The Accused."  You'll notice that he
does appear as kill-on-sight, but fear not.  He may be a
six-dot, but he's a level one six-dot, thus signficantly decreasing his
scary factor.

Instead of killing him though, try hailing him.  He'll puff
out his chest a bit and tell you how insignificant you are, but hear
him out.  Tell him that you're here to inquire about his
actions.

He'll suddenly turn very passive and tell you that you passed the test.
He'll say that most take action before inquiring, but since
you went in without judging, you stand out as a pretty cool cat.

You'll then hear music drumming up, and elephants in tu-tu's will come
out and dance.  The gods will join hands and sing to you about
the importance of not judging a book by it's cover, while animated
fairies sprinkle fairy dust around.

Either that, or you'll simply hear the "ding" of a completed quest.

Head back to Valus.  It's time to turn in this bad boy of a
quest and move on.
