Legendary Weapons and Other Rewards
style="font-weight: bold;">Disclaimer:
As of July 25, 2007, the Pantheon of the Ancients quest
series is
bugged. Sometimes the mobs won't spawn, or the quest won't
update, or other various bugs. Some quests may be
completable,
but proceed at your own risk.
It's Over! (Almost)
Well, a big congratulations to you, first of all, for defeating the
Pantheon of the Ancients. It was a long tough haul, but you
held in like real troopers. So it's about time you get a
reward for it all, doncha think?
You've defeated the sisters now, so you'll see Ini-herat walk around,
telling you that he's pretty impressed with your performance.
After all, who wouldn't be? He'll circle around a
bit, and then tell you that he has a surprise for you. As you
wait on the edge of your seat, he'll suddenly announce that he is not
Ini-herat the Attendant at all. He is, in fact, Alurad!
Will wonders never cease?
He'll transform into Alurad and sit on his big ol' pegasus.
He'll tell you how proud he is of you for making it through
the trials and proving your worth. He'll blabber on for
several minutes in fact. Truth is, we already know we rock.
Why he has to go on about it, I'll never know.
"Just give up the loot, Alurad!" I say.
Don't worry. He eventually will. He'll tell you
that you have earned a reward, and it is now yours. BUT!
He'll then throw a surprise at you. He'll make you
an offer. He tells you that you can accept what's in the
chest by his feet now, OR you can turn in your Cloak of the Pantheon
for an additional reward. And, oh yeah. You have
three minutes to decide.
Wowsers.
Well truth of the matter is that the rewards in the chest are fine.
They're quite good actually; but they are completely random.
They'll usually include a piece or two of heroic armor, and
maybe a piece or two of rare armor. It will be up to you how
you split it among your group. All the items in the chest are
bind on pickup, so it's best to have someone open the chest quickly,
link the goods, and quickly decide who gets what.
Turning in the cloak for an additional reward will be entirely up to
the individual. The loot from this mini-quest is strictly
locked to the player, and not the group, so there is nothing to be done
in the way of randoms/loot decisions. Each player will either
turn in their cloak or they won't.
Now before you freak out: If you do turn in your cloak for
additional loot, you WILL be able to do the Pantheon series of quests
again. You'll get to go through all of Tyrashnira's Lair, the
Corridor of the Pure, and the Final Trial a second or third time, or as
many times as you want. A few people repeat the quests
multiple times to get the particular reward they're after. To
be honest; the experience gained from the quest line is pretty darn
good too, so repeating it a few times is a perfectly valid option to
level your character.
Now. Specifics. Hail Alurad within three minutes of
his speech to get the quest to turn in the cloak for the other reward.
Simply complete the quest as soon as you get it, and your
cloak will be torn off your back. But you'll get your extra
loot too.
Turn around and go up to the big red shiny ball in the middle of the
room.
style="width: 500px; height: 480px;" alt="The Globe"
title="The Globe"
src="http://media.tentonhammer.com/vanguard/gallery/albums/album64/globe.jpg">
You should now get an exclamation point when you hover your pointer
over the ball. Right click it and you'll get a chest in your
inventory. That's your loot.
Congratulations on your chest! You can put it in your house
and brag to your friends that you have a chest from Pantheon!
That was worth it...
Ok, right click the chest... it doesn't go in your house.
You'll get random pieces of loot from the chest. You'll
always get an item that is wearable by your class. It's
usually a heroic item and can either be jewelery or armor.
It's usually quite a good piece of armor.
What everyone wants though, are the legendary weapons that come out of
these chests. The unfortunate part is that they are
completely random. Sometimes you'll get a weapon, sometimes
you won't. Even if you DO get a weapon, too, it's not
necessarily the one you want, or one you can even use.
The weapons are bind on equip and tradeable. So your chances
of getting that specific weapon you've been after increase if you do
the Pantheon a few times with some friends, and just trade weapons
among yourselves until everyone gets what they want. The
weapons are flagged that they can't be wielded unless you have traded
in the cloak of the pantheon though.
And that's it! That's how you get your Pantheon Legendary
Weapon. It's a lot of work, but it's a lot of fun, and great
experience.
Now go show off your goods. Them thar weapons have particle
effects you know!
