As you level though World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, one of the things that you will work on are your various professions. This guide walks you through a suggested leveling process of each of the three enhancement type professions: Enchanting, Inscription, and Jewelcrafting.
Please note these are only suggested leveling paths through the professions. Depending on the economy of your specific server there could be cheaper ways to max out your profession. This is based on our progress through the professions.

450-460
10 Mysterious Fortune Card
10 Blackfallow Ink
10 Resilient Parchment
460-475
15 Adventurer's Journal
15 Blackfallow Ink
15 Resilient Parchment
475-485
~12 Inferno Ink
24 Burning Embers
This turns yellow at 480 and green at 482, so is only a rough estimate, however since you will need Inferno Ink later, keep making it and save it until you get to 485.
485-490
~20 Origami Slime
~20 Resilient Parchment
This pattern is found by killing enemies in the Kelp'thar forest in Vashj'ir. It is worth getting since it only uses parchment and therefore is extremely cheap to make. The item it creates however is entirely useless.
490-500
~40 Origami Rock
~40 Resilient Parchment
This pattern is found by killing enemies in Deepholm. It is worth getting since it only uses parchment and therefore is extremely cheap to make even though it is green all the way from 490-500. The item it creates however is entirely useless.
500-520
~25 Forged Documents
~75 Blackfallow Ink
~25 Resilient Parchment
Turns yellow at 510. Can only make 1 per day, but is extremely cheap to make compared to your other options.
If you are looking for a faster way, that costs more, see below.
520-525
1 Notched Jawbone
or
1 Silver Inlaid Leaf
or
1 Tattooed Eyeball
12 Inferno Ink
36 Volatile Life
12 Volatile Earth, Air, or Water
Bleached Jawbone, Silver Charm Bracelet, or Preserved Ogre Eye
Grants 5 skill points.
Create whichever is most useful for you, the one you have the materials for, or that sells for the most, it's up to you.
NOTE: If you do not want to wait the 25 days to get from 500-520 by creating Forged Documents, you can follow this alternate method creating these more expensive items instead. While I list them in skill ranges, feel free to substitute in Forged Documents any time you can create them.
500-505
5 Runescroll of Fortitude II
5 Inferno Ink
5 Resilient Parchment
505-511
2 Runed Dragonscales
8 Inferno Ink

or

or

6 Volatile Fire, Air, or Water
Provides 3 points each

Notes
450-470
~30 of any new uncommon (green) gem
30 of any colour uncommon gem
Is yellow at 450 and turns green at 467. You can continue to make them until 485 however the low chance of getting a skill point past 467 makes this expensive.
470-475
5 Hessonite Bands
5 Jeweler's Settings
10 Hessonite
475-495
20 Nightstone Choker
20 Jeweler's Setting
40 Nightstone
NOTE: Once you get to 495 Jewelcrafting is really about the different patterns you can buy from the pattern vendor which means you must complete daily quests to earn tokens to buy them.
Make sure you buy a meta gem pattern as they are yellow at 515, and turn green at 520. The rare quality gem patterns are yellow at 500 and green at 507, and stop providing skill points entirely at 515.
Also at level 500 you should start making Fire Prisms daily, however since they have a 20 hour cooldown, it takes a while to earn skill points that way.
