Dealing with H1Z1 Launch Issues

by on Jan 16, 2015

Having troubles launching H1Z1? Getting strange bugs, crashes, or error G29? Here's a list of current known major H1Z1 problems and their solutions!

Here is a list of currently known H1Z1 issues and error messages, and how to resolve them.

Crashing when loading into H1Z1 & low frame rates

Some servers have known low frame rate issues at the moment. This is causing both issues playing on those servers after logging in (you'll see a lot of lag), or the game will crash to desktop when you try to enter a server. This is known and being worked on. If you want to play immediately, your best bet is to try other servers.

No Questions Asked h1z1 Refund Policy

If you're unhappy with H1Z1, you may be eligible for a refund through SOE (not Steam). Requirements:

The offer is only valid until Monday 01/19/2015 You must have purchased H1Z1 before 10:30 AM PST on 01/16/2015

To receive the refund, email bwilcox@soe.sony.com. For more details, see the reddit thread here.

[Update 1/16/2015 12:15 PST] SOE is working with Steam to see if they will allow self-refunds this weekend.

Server Queues and EU Latency

To help with both server queues and latency for EU H1Z1 players, SOE hopes to have an additional 200 EU servers online by 01/20/2015 (Tuesday).

Not Getting Loot in H1Z1

The issue of not getting enough loot in H1Z1 is a known issue, and will be addressed soon with a hotfix.

[Update 01/16/2015 10:00 PM PST] This has been resolved.

Error G29 and Error G99

Both are related to issues with Steam servers communicating with SOE servers and verifying that your account owns H1Z1. They are aware of the problems and it is being investigated.

[Update 01/16/2015 9:00 PM PST] Error G29 has been mostly resolved. Users who are seeing the error are trying to use a different SOE account than the one they originally started the game with. More information in this reddit thread.

This list will be updated as we hear more!
