Q:
How do I know what equipment is compatible
with my ship?
A: Read your ship's info and any mod or equipment info before
buying anything to ensure that you aren't wasting ISK on things you
can't use. Items on the marketplace will have red and green icons
that show if you have fulfilled the pre-requisites for the item with the
ship that you are occupying.
Q:
What happens if my ship is
destroyed?
A: If your ship is destroyed you'll be left alive in
your pod. You'll need to warp back to a station and replace your
ship with one you already have or by purchasing a new one.
Q:
Do I need to buy insurance for my ship?
A: Once you've move up from the rookie ship and have
fitted your ship you'll want to insure it to protect your investment.
Ships can get expensive! Choose a reasonable insurance plan that
works for you and remember to update it when it expires or you upgrade
again.
Q:
How many ships am I allowed to own?
A: However many you can store! There is no limit to how
many ships you own but it's a good idea to not make it a habit to keep
everything as space is valuable.
Q: I've
added weapons to my ship but they aren't firing, why is this?
A: Most weapons require ammo or charges of some sort. There
are various charges, frequency crystals, and projectile ammo that not
only do you need to have in your cargohold, but also needed to be loaded
into your weapons. Be sure you have done all of these as you don't
want to be caught out in space and find that you left your ammo at home.
Q: My
newbie rookie ship was destroyed and I didn't insure it, am I left
without a ship?
A: Never fear, your newbie ship will always be there for you.
The rookie ship is insured as a freebie and a good ship to keep on the
off chance you lose your better ships.
Q: Can
I leave my ship?
A: Not yet, but there has been
some
talk of eventually making it happen.
Q: I've
found an abandoned ship, can I take it?
A: Sure. If there is a ship floating out in the middle of
nowhere with no owner in site you technically can abandon your own ship
and take on the new one. Doing this requires that you have the
skills to pilot the new ship and generally players don't just leave
their ship for no reason so taking it may incur player backlash if you
get caught.
