In Honor of EverQuest 2's First Birthday, One Lucky Winner Will Enjoy EQ2's Second Birthday Courtesy of TenTonHammer!!!
On November 9th, 2005 EQ2 celebrated its first anniversary, and we helped 5 lucky winners celebrate by covering their subscription fee. The submissions were phenomenal and making the final selections was difficult, but in the end we chose one deserving player to win a free year of EQ2 and 4 other awesome contributors to receive one free 3-month game card each (a $360 value in total)!
You'll find our choices below, but a big thank you to all of you that participated!
A long, long time ago
I can still remember when crafting had no Repeat
And I knew if they had a chance
They'd update the emote dance
To make the toons move with some beat
Each live update made me shiver
With anticipation I would quiver
Grand news on my desktop
I swear my heart could just stop
I can't remember if I cried
When my petition got no reply
I felt an aching deep inside
The day my Wood Elf died
Happy Birthday Everquest 2
You're a whole year old now with a brand new LU
And SOGA models for America too
Here's looking to year number 2, here's looking to year number 2
I remember clearly on that day
I was swimming past the Pirate's Bay
I had my trusty totem of SOW
I was listenin' to some rock-and-roll
And I thought myself a little droll
When suddenly something cast a slow
Well I know it was an easy fight
But instead I turned around, took flight
I put on my JBoots
But damn those multiple roots
Oh, all I wanted was for her to dance
But I never even had a chance
I couldn't move, I was entranced
The day my Wood Elf died
Happy Birthday Everquest 2
You're a whole year old now with a brand new LU
And SOGA models for America too
Here's looking to year number 2, here's looking to year number 2
I thought that I had got away
And the rockin' song was still on Play
So I decided to stop a spell
I typed in the dance emote
Timed it perfect with each note
I didn't know it'd soon be Hell
I was watching her dancing around
The music covered up the sound
Sirens were fast approachin'
Their spells were still all broken
Before I could run, 'twas too late
As if the dance was siren bait
I was the one who sealed my fate
The day my Wood Elf died
Happy Birthday Everquest 2
You're a whole year old now with a brand new LU
And SOGA models for America too
Here's looking to year number 2, here's looking to year number 2
Jadelina's Marilyn Monro-esque "Happy Birthday" tribute (after the fonts) is truly something to see. Make sure the sound is turned on!
