Frostfell Fun!

The Holidays Hit Norrath

I love this time of year! As a barbarian, it does my stout heart good to see the lands covered in the frost that lasted all year in my family's ole homeland. Even the most mature of adults can't help but frolic with snowballs wearing festive hats.

Frostfell is more than fun new foods and elaborate decorations around the cities. The BEST part of Frostfell is the neat quests and cute little rewards. I do wish that SOE would expand on these holiday events a bit more, but I take what I can get.

After running around and harvesting snowballs and presents like mad, I made my way to the magic closet that leads to the Frostfell zone. You can find it in Qeynos Harbor by the clock, in West Freeport at the arena, in Neriak near the bank, in Kelethin near Jysolin's Pub, in Gorowyn on the ground level, and in Haven right next to the mailbox.

 

Frostfell Favor

One of the quests you will find in this zone is Frostfell Favor given by Mr McScroogle. He's a distasteful lil gnome but we'll help him anyway because he'll give us stuff! Talk to him and take the quest and you'll be zoned in to visit his past, present, and future. Gee..sound familiar?

In Frostfell past, you'll talk to his old girlfriend who will grill you, make you call her pretty, then dump you for someone better looking. Totally my kind of girl!

Frostfell Cloak

In Frostfell present you get a gander at just how crappy Tiny Jim and his family are doing. You toss them some gifts from the item in your inventory, clean up a few dishes, give them some food, and kick start their heater. TaDa! Karma problems are solved!

Frostfell future is a bit trickier. You are dropped in a zone that is just a big maze and you have to find the middle where your gravestone is. This is no easy task and the best advice I can give is you want to travel a roughly eastern path from your spawn point and the south when you hit the easternmost edge, the northwest from the opposite side of the wall from Tiny Jim. It seems to work best if you just stick close to the wall edge of the zone and not wander too far into the maze.

After all of that trauma, return to Mr McScroogle for your hard earned reward! You get a nifty Frostfell cape and a book. Oooh..a book!

 

Saving Frostfell

While you're there, you might want to swing by the cutie lil Queen Bunny and grab her quest as well. She'll send you to the Gnomeland Headquarters in Steamfont Mountains to take care of a little business. You'll be talking to a fae and goblin inside the house next to the mender. There's a lot of going back and forth and the pulling of arm levers (don't ask), and then you are off to find McScroogle's Corp. Headquarters. This is right outside the Klak'Anon door.

Frostfell 2007 Hat

Once inside, open the door with the code on the lever (use the lever twice, once for code, once to open the door.) Straight

ahead inside the door, there will be a box of explosives, grab those. Then along the same wall further into the room, there will be another lever on the wall to pull for fire alarm. Pull it! Be prepared though because tons of mobs will spawn in the room all, con white and blue. Now you must set the scribing desk on fire. Just right click to do that. There are 12 of them and you have to get them all. Once you have destroyed them all, Mr. McScroogle will spawn downstairs and you need to defeat him. After you've defeated him, you talk to him and show him the error of his ways.

You are all done with that now and may return to Queen Bunny for your reward!

 

Besides the quests, there are other things to do in Frostfell Village. If you collect the presents, you can get lots of interesting items for crafting special holiday goodies. Collect away and then speak with the fuel merchant over at the crafting stations to get the recipes that you desire. These recipes seem to be a level 10 crafting level skill, so if you don't have that it might be worth the time to level up a bit to be able to make the items.
