I stumbled across this Smokescale location a few days ago after my friend and I went hunting for them. Fortunately, it was surprisingly easy to find and because the Smokescale is arguably one of the best ranger/druid pets available, it's a must that you seek it out early.
Firstly, head to Auric Basin and Teku Nuhoch Waypoint. When inside the tree, head for the southern exit. If you find yourself exiting from the north (it can be a little confusing) just run around the tree and move south.
Once on the road, just follow the path. On the left you'll see a Veteran Smokescale and behind her, Juvenile Smokescales. Be careful when trying to tame them as the Veteran will likely attack you and if you're wearing berzerker gear, you'll find she can kill in seconds. A super easy pet to obtain!
