Half Elf Racial Quests

HAH! Kneel before me, puny mortals!!! Err... I mean... ummm... * clears throat *

So there was this update thingie a while back that reworked a lot of the pre level 20 content. Part of that included the introduction of race specific starting quests. Half elves, being half one thing and half another, go all out with that whole half thing and can start in either Qeynos or Freeport. Silly things, can't make up their minds. So of course, I had to do twice the quests for your folks' benefit! I'll accept all offerings of cash or chocolate.

Qeynos Half Elfies

First thing you do when you get off the Isle of Refuge is stand on the docks in the Willow Wood looking lost. To your left is a guy in a dress (he swears it's a robe). His name is Daelyn Twinstar (omg Wonder Twins anyone?) and he is the half elf mentor.

Hail him and listen to his spiel. He asks who your elf parent was and then guesses something about you. You can be nice and tell him that he's right or not. It's all fluff til he starts giving you quests.

Quest One

Talk to Gar Smolten and Lia Serene.

Gar - Loacted behind the inn. He wants you to sort through his boxes because they've been mixed up and tell him what's in which box.

Clay Figures box - Raisins and Apricots

Bottles - Carving Wood

Raisins and Apricots - Bottles

Carving Wood - Clay Figures

Herbs - Herbs

Talk to him again and tell him what each box contains. He thanks you and sends you on your way.

Lia - On the path towards the entrance to Elddar Grove. She asks you to rescue some bird eggs lying around the Willow Wood. They can be found on the ground.

Northeast corner of the inn

Tree by the entrance to the docks

Tree by the Forest Ruins entrance - Southwest part of the village

Once you find them all and return them to her, go back and talk to Daelyn again. Try not to laugh at his dress.

The reward for this quest is approximately 1s 31c.

Quest Two

Daelyn sends you to talk to Milo and Lyssia and listen to what they have to say.

Milo is in the scribe shop next to the bank.

Lyssia is by the entrance to Elddar Grove above Lia.

Return to Daelyn. He doesn't get the story out of you right away. Instead, he gives you another quest! Isn't this exciting?

Quest Three

Daelyn needs you to collect pages of his research that he let fly about town with the breeze. Some people take Gone with the Wind a little too seriously. The reward for this one is approximately 2s 60c and the Ayr'Dal Loop of Balance.

First page - Next to the entrance to the Wayfarer's Stockpilers by the inn.

Second page - On the path by the entrance to the Forest Ruins

Third page - Behind the rock near the path to the Forest Ruins

Fourth page - Northeast corner behind the scribe shop building

Fifth page - Middle of the path through town between the inn and the scribe shop building

Once you've picked them all up, return to Daelyn and receive your reward. Then tell him all about Milo and Lyssia.

Quest Four

Daelyn asks you to take his freshly recovered research to Elvic Garrett in the Forest Ruins. So you trot up the path to the Forest Ruins and zone in. Just ahead of you by a couple of ginormous rocks is Elvic. Hail him and tell him that Daelyn sent you with the research and you get the spiffy quest completed stuff and approximately 90c as your reward.

Freeport Half Elfies

Yup. That's right. Because the eight million step Qeynos thing wasn't painful enough, I now bring you... FREEPORT!! Go Freeport! Even if Lucan does wear gnome thongs, Freeport is the bestest.

So. Same drill. Step off the Isle of Refuge onto the docks in Beggar's Court in Freeport. You meet Thavian Destrus. Gone is the happy happy joy joy oscar mayer wiener singing ickiness that is Qeynos. These folks know how to treat a person!

Quest One

Thavian sends you off to deliver a letter to Lieutenant Cervaen. This dude is located on the right wall of the top half of Beggar's Court. There's a little ledge thingie with these steppie things you have to hop up to get there. (Right here is where I shouted "HOLY POO!" because I hadn't realized you could actually GET up there... Yeah. I'm not blonde, I swear to god.) Anyway! You hop the little steppie things and get to the top and there's Lieutenant Cervaen. You get a nifty little reward of approximately 1s and a courier's pouch.

Quest Two

First thing you do is go spy on some folks having a talk by the FP gates. You hide in the little corner and listen to the conversation. Return and give Delcairn the information.

Delcairn tells you to go to Loamshallow and pick up some poison. This guy is in one of the little kiosks just under the ledge. You buy Fate's Whisper poison from him for a whopping 1c. Go do the room next to the inn and poison the two cups. Return to Delcairn for your reward. Approximately 20c. Talk to Cervaen again.
