style="color: rgb(29, 66, 136); font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold;">In
this instance you will fill one of two roles. You will
either be healing, or helping with DPS. While you can heal as either a
href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/talents">Discipline
Priest, or a href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/talents">Holy
Priest, for Utgarde Keep there
isn’t much
difference between these two. It is a 5 man instance, and as such
it’s pretty
easy to heal with either spec. If you are specced href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/talents">Shadow,
you will be
helping
out with DPS.

style="color: rgb(29, 66, 136); font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold;">Trash
Mobs

All of
the trash mobs in Utgarde Keep are pretty straight
forward fights. If you are Shadow
specced, your role is very easy.
Wait for the
tank to get aggro, and then use your DOTs, and Mind Flay to bring them
down.
You can use Vampiric Embrace followed by href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/spells1-40#Mind_Blast">Mind
Blast to help heal the group if
your healer is having a hard time, and use Vampiric Touch followed by target="_blank"
href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/spells1-40#Mind_Blast">Mind
Blast to help restore Mana to
the group. In fact many groups will ask you to
just keep Vampiric Embrace, and Vampiric Touch going all the time. If
you are
fighting a large number of mobs at the same time, use target="_blank"
href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/spells1-40#Mind_Sear">Mind
Sear to AOE them
down. Throw up a href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/spells1-40#Fade">Fade
if you take Aggro, and you should sail through the trash
mobs with ease.

If you
are healing
Utgarde Keep, the trash mobs are pretty
easy on you. Most of your heals will be concentrated on the main tank,
with
only an occasional heal needed on the off tank, or other party members.
 Throw
href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/spells1-40#Prayer_of_Mending">Prayer
of Mending on the main tank as
he
charges. Use Prayer of Mending as much as possible; it’s a
great heal with a
low Mana cost. Use href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/spells1-40#Renew">Renew
to keep everyone topped off as needed in between
Prayer of Mending castings. Power Word: Shield is also a great way to
prevent
your tank from taking damage, but check with him first, some tanks
don’t like
it. Throw a Greater Heal if someone is getting swamped but in general
it won’t
be needed. Throw up a href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/spells1-40#Fade">Fade
if you take aggro, and you should sail through the
trash mobs with ease.

style="color: rgb(29, 66, 136); font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold;">Prince
Keleseth

If you
are doing DPS, this fight is pretty easy. Wait for
the tank to get aggro, and then lay into the Prince. Use Vampiric
Embrace,
Vampiric Touch and href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/spells1-40#Mind_Blast">Mind
Blast to help with Mana and
healing. Keep your DOTs up
at all times and Mind Flay in between. Use your href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/spells1-40#Shadowfiend">Shadowfiend
as the fight gets
underway to keep your Mana topped off. The only thing to watch out for
during
this fight is the Ice Tomb. Whoever gets trapped inside has to be freed
right
away or will go down quickly. Use your Mind Flay on the Tomb, and
everything
will be fine.

If
you are healing for this fight, you need to watch the tank
closely. It is a straight forward fight, but the Prince can hit pretty
hard.
Keep casting href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/spells1-40#Prayer_of_Mending">Prayer
of Mending anytime you can, and
keep href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/spells1-40#Renew">Renew
up at all times
on the tank. Use your Greater Heal if he starts taking to much damage.
You
might need to throw a Circle of Healing out there if the group starts
getting
hit to hard by the skeleton adds. You can use your Shadowfiend or target="_blank"
href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/spells1-40#Hymn_of_Hope">Hymn
of Hope
if your Mana gets to low. Just keep the tank topped off and the rest of
the
fight will take care of itself.

of the San’layn

style="color: rgb(29, 66, 136); font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold;">Skarvald
and Dalronn

This
fight is a bit more difficult than the Prince fight.
The goal of this fight is to kill both bosses as close to the same time
as
possible. So if you are doing DPS, you need to be clear who you are
going to
attack. Once is has been decided which target is yours, follow the same
rotation that you did for Keleseth.  Use
Vampiric Embrace, Vampiric Touch and href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/spells1-40#Mind_Blast">Mind
Blast to help with Mana and
healing.
Keep your DOTs up at all times and Mind Flay in between. Use your target="_blank"
href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/spells1-40#Shadowfiend">Shadowfiend
as the fight gets underway to keep your Mana topped off.

This
fight is a bit more difficult if you are healing. You
will have to watch the tank, and the off tank closely because each will
have a
boss attacking them. Skarvald also tends to jump around a bit, making
it hard
for the tank to hold aggro. Keep casting href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/spells1-40#Prayer_of_Mending">Prayer
of Mending anytime you can, and
keep href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/spells1-40#Renew">Renew
up at all times on the main tank and off tank. You will probably
have to cast Circle of Healing more than you did with Keleseth. You can
use
your Shadowfiend or href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/spells1-40#Hymn_of_Hope">Hymn
of Hope if your Mana gets too
low. Just keep Renew up,
and use Greater Heal as needed as you should be fine.

Possible
Loot

Unfortunately you get ripped off from this boss. There is
really nothing they drop that is useful to you.

style="color: rgb(29, 66, 136); font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold;">Ingvar
the Plunderer

If you
are doing DPS on this fight, there is one thing to
remember, Stay back! Ingvar has a strong cleave, and really nasty
Shadow AoE attacks
that will take down all but the strongest tanks. His attacks are shadow
based,
so you can use Shadow Protection to help the group out on this fight.
Stay at a
distance and follow your normal rotation of using Vampiric Embrace,
Vampiric
Touch and href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/spells1-40#Mind_Blast">Mind
Blast to help with Mana and
healing. Keep your DOTs up at all
times and Mind Flay in between. Use your Shadowfiend as the fight gets
underway
to keep your Mana topped off.

If
you are healing there isn’t much new that you will have
to do. Use Shadow Protection on the group (his attacks are Shadow
based), and
stay well back from Ingvar. Keep casting href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/spells1-40#Prayer_of_Mending">Prayer
of Mending anytime you can, and
keep href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/spells1-40#Renew">Renew
up at all times on the main tank and off tank. Use Greater Heal if
anyone drops below 50% to get them back up and you will probably have
to cast
Circle of Healing quite a bit because of Ingvar’s AoE
attacks. The biggest
issue with this fight is that you will have to kill Ingvar twice, so
watch your
mana. Save your href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/spells1-40#Shadowfiend">Shadowfiend
and href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/wow/guides/classes/priest/spells1-40#Hymn_of_Hope">Hymn
of Hope for the second part of
the fight,
Ingvar hits harder now, and you will need all the mana you can get.
