Traditional in some ways yet unique in others, the five classes of Riders of Icarus will suit any playstyle. We provide an overview of the Berserker, Wizard, Guardian, Priest, and Assassin in this guide.

Berserker

A melee DPS class, the Berserker is all about closing fast and building Rage in combat to power skills. Rely on a Berserker to handle some hits while killing quickly, or die trying.

Berserker Starting Stats:

STR

DEX

CON

INT

WIL

9 7 8 6 7

Berserker Gameplay:

Uses a greatsword as a main weapon

Main class role is DPS

Build up rage bar by either getting attacked or attacking enemies

Rage slowly goes away when not in combat

Rage is used for active skills

Chose Berserker if... you love smorc’ing  in the thick of the action without pesky responsibilities like threat management or evasion.

Wizard

A ranged spellcaster, the solo Wizard relies on direct damage spells and a short range teleport while rooting enemies in place, while a grouped Wizard can DoT powerful enemies or AoE groups of enemies.

Wizard Starting Stats:

STR

DEX

CON

INT

WIL

7 7 6 9 8

Wizard Gameplay:

Uses a staff as a main weapon

Main class role is DPS

Many type of elements used for attacks, for example:

Fire attacks tend to do Damage Over Time

Ice slows and even freezes enemies in place

Has a wide range of AOE attacks

Has a physical blink to avoid getting hit or aggressively approach an enemy

Chose Wizard if... you love Liberace pants and old timey root ‘n nuke damage done from a comfortable distance, with the nice bonus of instant teleport if your whizbang antics attract too much attention.

Priest

Perhaps Riders of Icarus’s most dynamic class, Priests are a healing and support class that must manage motes - three of which can be summoned at a time -  to heal, provide defensive buffs, or do either damage over time or direct damage. Priests are also your only option for a revive.

Priest Starting Stats:

STR

DEX

CON

INT

WIL

7 6 7 8 9

Priest Gameplay:

Uses a scepter as a main weapon

Main class role is support (heals and buffs) but also has devestating offensive abilities

The only class that will be able to revive allies

Has Healing Over Time (regen) skills or Damage Over Time debuffs if used on an enemy instead

Summons motes when using particular skills

o 3 Motes can be summoned at a time

o The more motes you have summoned, the more defensive benefits are given to the priest

o Motes can be thrown towards allies to heal HP

o Motes can be thrown towards enemies to do damage

Chose Priest if... you love being indispensible to serious players who love to group, and you don’t mind a little tactical complexity.

Guardian

The Guardian is Riders of Icarus’s tank class, pure and simple. Beyond their defensive characteristics, Guardians manage aggro and pull with chain attacks, can block with their shield, and can even increase the movement speed of allies.

Guardian Starting Stats:

STR

DEX

CON

INT

WIL

8 6 8 7 8

Guardian Gameplay:

Uses a sword and shield as their main weapon

Main class role is to be the tank and have enemies focus on their character instead of other players

Has the ability to block incoming enemy attacks by using their shield

Uses a chain attack to pull enemies towards their player

Can be used on allies to increase the target movement speed

Chose Guardian if... you love controlling the pace of the fight, not to mention can think on your feet while taking a beating on behalf of your group.

Assassin

Fragile yet deadly, the Assassin is considered a mobile DPS class. Lacking the durability of the Berserker, the Assassin can dash and evade in all directions to exact positional attacks and shed aggro.

Assassin Starting Stats:

STR

DEX

CON

INT

WIL

8 9 7 7 6

Assassin Gameplay:

Uses 2 daggers as a main weapon

Main class role is DPS

Has a lot of stylish and flashy moves

Has great mobility and has many evasion maneuvers to avoid getting hit or to close in on enemies

Can dash/evade in all directions

Chose Assassin if... you prefer to watch the fight rather than waiting for toolbar buttons to light up, and you love the high risk / reward of playing a rogue-like class.
