Achievements were added in patch 3.0 and literally track every players achievements in World of Warcraft. The points that you earn go to a running total that is a good judgement of how many neat things youve done in the game. A lot of achievements are time sinks while others are true badges of honor. Some dont even award points, but show that youve done something amazing within the game. A player with a high score doesnt necessarily show that hes done things others havent, but does show that its someone who has spent a good deal of time in the game.
