Zul'Aman Guide - Zul'Jin

Zul'Jin is the Leader of the Amani Tribe and the final boss of the Zul'Aman dungeon. A big Warcraft Hero, leader of the trolls during the second war between Orcs and Humans, he now resurfaces after being thought lost forever by the trolls, leading them against both Alliance and Horde alike within his own city of Zul'Aman. This fight has many phases, and every 20% he will wipe threat on everyone, move to the center of the platform, and begin the next phase.

Abilities

Phase 1 - Troll Form

Whirlwind: AoE attack that deals ~3000 damage on plate, 2 seconds cast time

Throw: 1500-3500 initial damage on a random player, a DoT for 2400 damage/2sec is applied unless that person is healed to full

Phase 2 - Bear Form

Creeping Paralysis: Raid-wide debuff, 4500 nature damage after 6 seconds, and applies the debuff Paralyzed - Paralyzed players will be stunned for 4 seconds. Dispel this ASAP!

Overpower: 4500-5500 direct damage on the tank, 10 seconds cooldown

Phase 3: Eagle Form

Energy Storm: Raid-wide debuff that causes any character who uses mana abilities to take 1250 damage.

Feather Vortex: 4 Tornadoes spawn, dealing 1000 nature damage and knock players back if they are touched.

Phase 4: Lynx Form

Claw Rage: Zul'Jin picks out a random target and begin attacking them for 500 damage, adding 150 damage to each subsequent attack for a total of 12 - it's very hard to survive this so you will need all heals on the person being attacked, or have this person feign, vanish, iceblock, etc so Zul'Jin focuses the tank

Lynx Hunt: 9 attacks in a row at random people, can repeat people chosen. Each attack hits for 2000, and adds a debuff that deals 1500 damage every 2 seconds for 10 seconds.

Phase 5: Dragonhawk Form

Flame Whirl: Zul'jin rotates, and hurts everyone for 1000 fire damage, adding a debuff that increases fire damage taken for next time.

Flame Breath: Fire attack that hits everyone infront of him for 2000-3000

Flame Columns: Fire Attack on a random player or pet that will deal 900 fire damage every second for 10 seconds, making columns. He may use this up to 3 times.

Strategy

Get your whole group up to his platform and get ready to kill off the adds.

Each time Zul'jin changes phases he will do a threat wipe, so calculate the 20% mark and lay off DoTs so people avoid taking aggro from the main tank. This boss is untauntable so your tank needs to pick his attention up every 20%! Misdirection helps.

During phase 1, make sure everyone who's affected by his throw is at 100% so they stop losing HP.

During phase 2, dispel the paralysis debuff as soon as humanly possible, first from the main tank then from healers first and foremost, then finally DPS. It's more important to stay alive and keep your healers and tank up than gamble on getting DPS out of paralysis.

A popular tactic for this is to have everyone be close to each other and use one mass dispel to cleanse everyone from the debuff.

During phase 3, stay away from the tornadoes, since they knock back. Focus him down quickly so he shifts forms again - since melee can do most of the job here, casters can take a break and regen mana.

During phase 4, call out who's been targetted and make sure to pop your healthstones or health potions early if you see your health go down - tank may attempt to intervene and healers should use fast spells to keep the raid up during this form.

Finally, during phase 5, you must kill him off as fast as posible since his debuff stacks and will make you take more and more fire damage as the fight lasts longer. Let the tank grab a hold of him for a few seconds, then unload and let him have it as soon as possible.

Congratulations! you have defeated Zul'jin and cleared the Zul'Aman Dungeon!
