ArchLord 2 Rides off Into the Sunset in November

by on Sep 21, 2015

There is only a few months left to play ArchLord 2 before it's gone... for good.

ArchLord 2 is going to be going bye-bye on November 24th, 2015. ArchLord 2 is the successor of the original ArchLord, interestingly enough one of the first games I ever reviewed for Ten Ton Hamer then some and forever ago. Thankfully, due to Webzen's Wcoin working across a broad range of MMOs, players won't be missing out on any specific loss of currency, outside of using it in the recent timeframe, so that's good at least. Oh and another positive is that if you did spend it in the last six months, you do get it back, so honestly this is a rather nice sunset in terms of player investment coming back. Here's what they said on the official notice:

Today, we have some very sad news for you. Unfortunately, the time has come for Archlord 2 to close its doors for good. In roughly 2 months’ time, on November 24th 2015, the servers for Archlord 2 will be deactivated and it will no longer be possible to play the game after that.

Archlord 2 has been a great adventure for all of us, and we sincerely hope that you have enjoyed your time with the game and the friends you made while playing it. We know we have.

Going back to Wcoin, if you spent any in the last six months, you'll get it back in your account and can use it to go play something else from Webzen, like Age of Wulin, C9, or Flyff, plus a few more. So that's nice, at least. This should be done by October 7th and, in addition, you'll receive coupons for the other games in their lineup. So be sure to check your email.

I don't have much to say about Archlord 2, I never played it, but I hope this sunset isn't too painful on those who are playing currently.
