Atari Closes Cryptic Studios Sale with Perfect World

<p>Atari has officially divested its interest in Cryptic Studios and the developer is now in the hands of China-based MMOG developer Perfect World.

Atari revealed its plans to divest its interest in Champions Online and Star Trek Online developer Cryptic Studios back in May and the publisher recently announced that it has closed the deal to sell the developer to China-based MMOG developer Perfect World for a reported amount of $49.8 million.

Atari will use a portion of the funds to reimburse BlueBay credit facility and apply the remaining balance to its social/casual and mobile games segments and licensing.
