The permadeath MMOG Salem heads to beta next month and registration is now open for potential testers. You can sign up for the beta on the Salem website. If you can get three friends to sign up using your unique referral link, you're even guaranteed a beta spot.
Salem is a free-to-play MMOG set in fantastical New England, where players take on the roles of colonists building a new life for themselves. The game features crafting, witchcraft, PvP and permadeath. Salem is expected to launch in Q3 2012.

Paradox Interactives MMO goes into BETA end of April 2012
NEW YORK March 23, 2012 Paradox Interactive and Seatribe today announced the opening of Beta sign-ups for upcoming Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) game, Salem. Developed by Seatribe, Salem is set in the New World when pilgrims were the norm and the frontier was still the greatest risk to a persons health.
Salem is a unique core gaming experience for MMO players and crafting enthusiasts, known best for its Permadeath mechanic where in-game characters succumb to the harsh wilderness environment. Interested Beta testers can sign up here to participate in the beta.
Weve been getting Beta requests from gamers since we announced Salem and its great to finally be able to let people into the beta testing said Björn Johannessen , lead designer at Seatribe. Weve chosen to keep the sign up completely open, the more the merrier, and will do our best to listen to all feedback we get, he continued.

About Salem
Set in a fantastical New England, Salem offers free form Massively Multiplayer gameplay in a persistent, ever-changing, online world. Players take the roles of intrepid colonists from the Old World seeking to make lives for themselves in the New. The colonists are able to use a unique crafting, farming and building system inspired by 17th century alchemy.
Although Salem takes place in a light-hearted gothic setting with a charming and cute art-style, there is also open Player-versus-Player combat and permanent death. Players will also experience creatures based off actual colonist folklore like Squonks, Hidebehinds and of course witches in an open sand box world.
