BioWare Delays SWTOR’s Next Update to Address Major UI Bug

A UI bug halts today’s launch of SWTOR’s 2.0.1 update and the release of the new Vice Commander’s Contraband Pack.

If you were hoping to get your hands on some of the items in Star Wars: The Old Republic’s (SWTOR) new Vice Commander’s Contraband Pack you’re going to have to wait a while longer. BioWare has announced that today's scheduled release of Game Update 2.0.1 has been delayed due to the discovery of a major UI bug. The bug in question relates to the display of buffs and debuff, which have ceased to show the duration. While that may sound minor, Community Manager Eric Musco explained how it can impact the gameplay experience for many players.

“I know at first glance that might sound really minor, but think about it during your actual gameplay, Community Manager Eric Musco wrote on the SWTOR forums. Any class which has a DoT, HoT, debuff, buff, or proc that has a duration would no longer be able to "at-a-glance" see how long was remaining on that skill.”

The 2.0.1 update contains a number of crew skill fixes, class balance changes, temporary and permanent price reductions for Cartel Market items, and more. Additionally, the update will also add the new Vice Commander’s Contraband Pack to the game. Like other packs, the Vice Commander Contraband Pack has the random option to grant players the chance to earn a huge number of new items such as the new white-black & silver-blue color crystals, multiple cosmetic outfits and items, four new mounts, pets, and more.

No new release date for update 2.0.1 has been announced as of yet so stay tuned.
