Earlier this month ChangYou revealed a lineup of titles slated for development, but what some fans might be more interested in is the fact that the team has been working on a new Shadowbane title called World of Shadowbane. The original Shadowbane title was shut down by Ubisoft in 2009, much to the chagrin of many players. But ChangYou has reportedly acquired the rights and source code for Shadowbane, and according to a report from 178.com, has already been developing what for now is being called World of Shadowbane, for about the last year.
Unfortunately, there are few details about the game currently available. MMO Culture reported the news following a ChangYou media conference, but the details are still a bit scarce as to what exactly the publisher might have planned for the Shadowbane. Current details would indicate that the game is being developed for the Asian market. Stay tuned and well update you when we have more details.
Shadowbane was originally developed by former Wolfpack Studios and was well-known for its PvP style of gameplay. The game ceased operation in the US in 2009.
