Cryptic Studios has selected another round of questions to be answered for Star Trek Online in the 19th installment of Ask Cryptic. As expected, this is the second part of the Ask Cryptic focus on Klingons and this week Cryptic addressed questions about Klingon advancement, ships, and PvP balance. In one question, a member of the community asked if it would be possible to advance if there is a lack of PvP participation. The answer is yes. The PvE objectives of the Warzones can be completed even if your opponent doesn't bother to show up. While this would probably make for a dull Warzone, it leaves a way to advance if PvP is in short demand.

Yes the Warzone maps are setup so that they can be completed even if the other side doesn’t show up—your main opponent in that case is the PvE Content. However, with a single server model, we think there is going to be plenty of PvP to go around.

Cryptic also answered a question as to how much PvE content Klingons will have at launch, vowing to consider adding more if the players request it once the game is launched. While there is some PvE content, the primary method of advancement remains the PvP system.

We have deep space encounters for Klingons that are a great place to test new strategies or configurations or just to let off some steam between PvP matches. Additionally, some of the PvP maps feature PvE objectives, as answered in the question above. Of course, if Klingon Players tell us they want more of this once we've launched, and they've tried things out, we'll look into adding more PvE content.
