Denise Crosby Lends Voice to Star Trek Online

Star Trek: TNG actress Denise Crosby drops by Cryptic to work on a secret project for Star Trek Online.

You may remember actress Denise Crosby from Star Trek: The Next Generation. The actress is known for two roles on the show where she portrayed Chief Security Officer Tasha Yar early in the series and later as her daughter, the human/romulan hybrid known as Commander Sela. Sela has been featured in Star Trek Online (STO) lore since the beginning of the game, even going so far as becoming empress before her disappearance. So to find that Denise Crosby recently popped into Cryptic Studios to do some work on a "secret project" makes me wonder if maybe we might be seeing Empress Sela again soon, especially given that the current STO story involves the romulans.

STO Community Manager Brandon "BranFlakes" Felczer recently sat down for a chat with Crosby to talk Trek, but not give away anything about the upcoming project. So whether Crosby may be reprising her role as Sela, making a time traveling return of Tasha Yar, or something else entirely is anyone's guess. Stay tuned and we'll update you when we have more about whatever Cryptic is up to.

Crosby isn’t the first Star Trek actor/actress to be recruited by Cryptic for work in the game. STO has also featured voice work from Leonard Nimoy and Zachary Quinto, both of who portrayed Spock, and Chase Masterson, known for her role as the lovely Leeta on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
