Players who want a quick glimpse of anothers progress will no longer have to pry into the details of their achievements and trophies, they can just look at their new Dota Level. A player will receive 1 Dota level for every 100 traophy points they collect. A description for the new measuring stick was posted in the introduction blog post.
As part of today’s update we’re unveiling Dota Levels, the culmination of all of your accomplishments in Dota. Dota Levels are displayed as a badge on your Dota Profile based on your level, and are gained by earning trophies and playing matches.
While the dota levels don't appear to provide any bonus content or rewards right now, they are a good way to sum up your Dota Glory in one place.
It's also important to note that all Dota 2 trophies count towards the total, including ones for specific events.
