ArenaNet posts a trio of new blogs to discuss GW2’s new PvP Tournament system, tweaks to dungeon mechanics, and Achievement Rewards.

ArenaNet has sounds off about more changes coming to Guild Wars 2 (GW2) n a trio of new dev blogs. Up first (in no particular order) is Game Designer Jonathan Sharp, who posted some changes for the PvP Tournament system that are now being tested through February 4th on live servers. The change allows one team to face another as opposed to the older system of requiring eight teams. ArenaNet has selected the Temple of the Silent Storm map for exclusive testing of the change. You can read Sharp’s full blog to learn more about how it works and how you can give it a try.

Next up is Designer Matt Wuerffel, who served up some extra details about the new Achievement Reward system. Wuerffel touched on the new Laurels currency, changes to the system, and the new rewards available to players.

Last up is Designer Robert Hrouda with some news about changes to GW2’s dungeon mechanics. The blog covers some planned changes for the coming months to make dungeons “more fun and challenging.” A two-phase plan was posted in the blog with Phase 1 consisting of the elimination of res-rushing by making fallen players unable to release to a waypoint while their party is in combat. Phase 2 will take a look at enemy and boss health values and mechanics to make elite encounters more challenging and reward players accordingly for taking risks.

In short, expect many more changes in the coming months.
