While other gaming companies are suffering subscription losses, financial woes, and employee layoffs CCP, creators of EVE Online, have posted a rise in profits for 2008. Icelandic news source reports that not only is CCP holding its own, the gaming company continues to expand in employees and in profits.

CCP’s primary revenue stream is the massively multiplayer online game EVE Online, which has 244,551 subscribers, according to data at the end of last year, mbl.is reports.

The worth of the company’s assets were estimated at USD 43.8 million (EUR 32.7 million) at the end of 2008, while its liabilities amounted to USD 25 million (EUR 19 million).

CCP increased the number of its employees by 92 in 2008, from 261 to 353. CCP operates in three cities in different parts of the world, Reykjavík, Shanghai and Atlanta.
