What won't the iPhone do?
As if the iPhone wasn't cool enough, Icarus Studios will be showing off its virtual world platform for iPhones at this week's Austin Game Developer's Confernce. According to the press release, the demo will show a prototype of their 3D platform running on an iPhone that will include:
"...a 360-degree panoramic tour of a sample virtual world location, with navigation ability through the accelerometer. The official launch of the Icarus 3D iPhone client will be in Q1 2009."
This latest offering is yet another lure for the tackle box that is Icarus' Studio's suite of virtual world building materials. The suite also incorporates Vivox (for voice interaction) and many other technologies for developers to leverage.
For more information on the iPhone world platform or the suite of tools, stop by their booth (#316) at AGDC, or the Icarus Studio website if you are geographically challenged and can't get to Austin.
Would you MMO from your iPhone? I'm on the fence and have put my thoughts in our forum. Stop by and let me know yours.
