Usually when someone stops playing a game, their characters just sit on some server stored away in a closet collecting dust until they decide to come back. Xsyon, however, has taken a different and rather creative approach.
Xyson: Prelude is putting those abandoned tribal totems left by inactive players to good use by turning those once active tribes into Revenants, sophisticated AI monsters that can hunt you down and loot your corpse, and then do the same thing to all of your friends. Kind of like Xysons own zombie apocalypse, if the zombies only wanted your loot instead of a hefty helping of Manwich (emphasis on the man). Luckily, Revenants carry their own scrap armor sets that can be pried off of their rotting corpses.
If there was ever a time to try Xsyon, its during a zombie-style apocalypse spawned by inactive players. I wonder what happens if a player comes back and logs into where their tribe once was. That could be awkward, and messy.

The earth is ready to give up its dead to play right alongside survivors in the sandbox, survivalist MMORPG Xsyon: Prelude. As a part of this leap forward for Xsyon the overall AI for various creatures has been enhanced. Tribe totems have changed to a square format giving players more real estate to construct their fortresses and homesteads to stem the tide of the invading undead.
