Last Chance to Prepare for Heavensward / Patch Notes

by on Jun 18, 2015

FFXIV: Heavensward is coming and this is your very last chance to prepare - you must have all patch 2.5 main story content and any content before it done before launch to proceed.

If you haven't finished the main story for FFXIV, then you're going to have a bad time on Friday when Ishgard is locked for you. You must complete the main story in order to continue in FFXIV. This is your final warning, because after the launch of Heavensward, even if you own the expansion, you will not be able to continue into the new areas - this can and can not be a godsend for you, depending on your situation. If you're a brand new player, Heavensward is going to make 1-50 leveling easier for you and the main quest content, while lengthy, is short. If you're a level 50, you'll be stuck with a group of other players trying to grand through multiple patches worth of story content to be able to enjoy everything the game has to offer.

So yeah, this is your final warning! You have to get your main story done. Anything with the main quest symbol is a main quest and you must complete them. You can open your journal to see where you're at.

In other news, the Heavensward patch notes have been released. You can read them here. Most of it contains things we already know (new areas, more main story quest EXP, Au Ra race, airships, etc.) It's still worth a read over to understand all of the insane amount of content coming in 3.0! There is so much on that list, it's mindboggling.

Again though most of the new awesome content is gated behind the main scenario / main story quests. These have to be done to enjoy the new newness! Early access starts Friday, June 19th! Get to grinding.
