Turbine rolls out a new developer blog in their class revamp series detailing changes to the Warden with the Helm’s Deep expansion.

Turbine continues their class revamp dev diary series for The Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO) this week with the latest changes for the Warden class slated for release with the upcoming Helm’s Deep expansion. The Warden will see a reduction in the number of Gambits in its arsenal along with a few newly added skills. Additionally, the Warden will only have two stances following the changes with the melee DPS and tanking stance In the Fray and the Assailment, the Warden’s ranged stance.

“Let’s talk about some basic changes! For one, the Warden will now only have two stances. “In the Fray” is the Warden’s melee stance. Folks who specialize in melee DPS or tanking will spend most of their time in this stance. “Assailment” remains the Warden’s Ranged stance, and folks who specialize in the same said line can expect to spend a fair bit of time in this stance. The reason for trimming down from three stances to two is simple: We used to rely on stances to modify your potency at dealing DPS, tanking, or hurling Javelins, but now we’re using the trait trees to do so! Another important note is that, with the exception of some special Gambits and skills which are found in the trees, almost all Gambits will be granted by level, regardless of your specialization.”

The Warden will also have three lines to choose from the same as other classes with Determination, the Warden’s AoE tanking line, Reckless, the new DPS line, and Assailment, the ranged line. Read all about the upcoming changes in the latest dev diary.

LOTRO’s Helm’s Deep expansion launches on November 18th, 2013.
