Lots of Crucible Changes with Next Destiny Patch

Some new upgrades to the crucible are being rolled into the Crimson Day event update.

Network latency has been a bit of an issue with many Destiny players, especially in the crucible. Players who were previously on the winning end of having a slow connection (or manipulating one) will now be subject to the new referee system. This new system will hopefully account for the lag differences, giving a slight advantage to the player with the best latency.

The other major change to Destiny's crucible is the removal of special ammo pickups from the start of many matches, after which they will spawn as normal. Effective when the patch releases, all 3v3 maps will operate using these new parameters, which were put in place to prevent players from getting instantly head shot at the start of every match. While this will annoy many players (especially the ones doing the headshotting), overall it can only work to balance the state of the game.

The update including the event all come out next Tuesday, February 9th. While it's not a lot of new content, it's nice to see them still trying to make Destiny better even while working to finish Destiny 2.
