What would you do to enhance your gaming library with some of your favorite games? Some people buy them, some pirate illegal copies online and others get them by other means. I'm sure many of us have jested at the notion of tunneling into one of our local gaming stores to get our hands on an early copy of a game that they wouldn't be selling until the next day, but it's unlikely any of us would ever actually do it. Right?

33-year old Steven Archer apparently thought differently. Instead of just joking lightheartedly about pulling off a Keystone Kapers-style robbery, Archer was arrested last week for allegedly doing it when he reportedly pulled off a rather elaborate theft at a local GameStop. According to reports, Archer allegedly broke into a vacated building next to the GameStop on January 4th and began to tunnel his way into the store.

According to The Greeneville Sun, the warrant for Archer's arrest stated that he made off with $288.55 in cash and over $5300 worth of merchandise. While managing to avoid having his face caught on camera at the GameStop by wearing a mask, our alleged thief's downfall came when police reviewed video from the GameStop security cameras that showed Archer casing the area. Footage from a nearby Walmart led police to discover what they called Archer's "unusual vehicle", a passion purple painted GMC "Jimmy" SUV with easily identifiable decals. I guess our alleged criminal didn't learn about a thief's need for stealth from any of those video games.

Thanks to our forum mistress Shayalyn for this amusing bit of gaming news.
