Earlier today Massively learned that NCsoft had undergone a round of layoffs as part of a global restructuring plan for its Western publishing team. According to a statement released to Massively, less than 2% of the global workforce was impacted and many some jobs from of the Austin, Brighton and Seattle are being contracted back to NCsoft’s headquarters in Seoul. Unfortunately, that could still be a fair number of people out of work.

NCsoft recently lost its court appeal against Ultima creator Richard “Lord British” Garriott and was ordered to pay the developer $32 million.

As always our best wishes go out to those affected by the layoffs.
