Over 700 EverQuest Accounts Suspended for Cheating

<p>Sony Online Entertainment hits more than 700 <em>EverQuest</em> accounts with suspensions for violation of the anti-cheat code.

Earlier this month, Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) issued a stern warning to EverQuest players that were using cheats to stop or face the consequences. Apparently some players didn’t listen.

In a post to the EverQuest website, SOE announced that it had suspended more than 700 accounts for violating the anti-cheating code. Unfortunately, the suspensions appear to only be temporary and for only a few days.

On Friday, December 9, 2011 the first wave of accounts were suspended as a result of the new anti-cheating code in EverQuest. This included suspensions on more than 700 accounts for a number of days by way of a first warning.

There also seems to have been a few unfortunate players caught in the crossfire, but SOE has since unbanned those accounts and issued an apology to those players with additional game time credit.
