We have obtained new information relating to recent scam attempts e-mailed to World of Warcraft customers. These e-mails take the form of an official contact to the player requesting specific account and password information. In this specific case the e-mail addresses are made to seem as though they are coming from security@blizzard.com or abuse@blizzard.com
Please be aware that any e-mails sent to you from security@blizzard.com or abuse@blizzard.com are not from Blizzard Entertainment. If at any time you are unsure of the validity of an e-mail that was sent to you concerning your World of Warcraft account, please e-mail billing@blizzard.com
Blizzard will never request your password through e-mail, ever. More information on various scam attempts and what you can do to protect yourself can be found on our Billing Support site. ~ Drysc
