Riot Already Considering Balance Changes After 5.22 Patch

Well, that didn't take long.

The 5.22 patch for League of Legends marks the start of the pre-season, and with it have come quite a lot of changes for the game. One of the most significant areas of change has been the rework of several Marksmen, as well as a completely revamped Mastery system. These two things have already created some potential balance issues, which Riot Meddler has acknowledged on the official forums.

To no one's surprise, the numbers suggest that Graves is a bit too strong in his current state. He very quickly ramps up to have incredible amounts of burst damage, both on champions and objectives.

In addition, the Warlord's Bloodlust mastery that heals champions when they land a critical strike is extremely strong on champions that "cheat" crit, like Yasuo and Tryndamere. As such, it's likely that some work will be done with that mastery.

Lastly, Meddler stated that Kog'Maw will probably be receiving some buffs. Given that the game plays faster than it did previously, this might be warranted, as Kog'Maw might just not have the time to scale up to his late game hyper-carry status in the current state of the game.

These changes (and perhaps others) will likely be coming in a hotfix patch, sometime in between 5.22 and 5.23.
