SOE Gets Unreal
Today we see perhaps the first sign of collaboration between Sigil Games (who licensed the Unreal Engine 3 for use in the development of Vanguard: Saga of Heroes) and Sony Online Entertainment. SOE has just announced that they've licensed Epic Games' flagship technology for use in future MMORPG projects, including the DC Comics-based MMO SOE-Austin is currently working on.
“Our development teams are very excited about harnessing the power of Unreal Engine 3,” said John Smedley, president of Sony Online Entertainment. “The combination of a top-notch graphics engine and a robust set of design tools will enable our teams to deliver incredible and innovative game content for next-generation consoles and the PC.”
