PlanetSide 2 has three factions that players can choose from, but that choice means more than the color of your armor. This week Sony Online Entertainment has posted a new PlanetSide 2 brief that offers some new information about one of the games three factions the Terran Republic. The Terran Republic ushered in a new era of peace on Earth and under their banner; the people struck out for the stars and found Auraxis.
The Terran Republic, like the other two factions, offer a specific benefit and choice of vehicles and weapons that can help shape a players playstyle. They choose to stick with conventional weapons that have been proven to work in the past, which means that players that choose to fight as Terran Republic soldiers will have access to accurate, high-velocity weapons and bullets with the fastest firing rate and largest ammo capacities in the game.
More so than any other empire, the TR are a professional military, they are the most synergistic of the teams and benefit the most from numbers and coordination. Their weapons and vehicles are top of the line, shining and new, but conventional. They eschew experimental ordinances and energy weapons, preferring to stick with what has worked for hundreds of years accurate, high velocity bullets, and lots of them.
The Terran Republic also has access to two unique empire vehicles the Mosquito fighter jet and the prowler battle tank. The Mosquito will be recognized by players of the original PlanetSide as a fast fighter jet. In PlanetSide 2 its still an extremely agile craft capable of being fitted with a variety of weapon systems and has the fastest top speed of any air vehicle. The Prowler, also a returning vehicle, is a medium tank and also the fastest empire-specific tank capable of being fitted with extra weapon systems.
