There's been a lot of speculation about Sony Online Entertainment's next step for the EverQuest IP and at SOE Fan Faire in Las Vegas, Nevada, Sony Online Entertainment President John Smedley discussed future plans for the EverQuest franchise in a panel called "The Future of EverQuest" and called for feedback from players. SOE teased the next installment of the EverQuest saga with what is currently being called EverQuest Next, which according to an article from Eurogamer is the next EverQuest MMOG and is being considered a reboot and will be like the original EverQuest.
