You may remember Gaikai from their recent partnerships with TERA, Dungeons & Dragons Online and The Lord of the Rings Online to stream short demos of the games via browser. It appears that Sony has taken a bit of a liking to Gaikais technology, so much so that theyve just announced that they'll be acquiring the company for $380 million.
With this new asset soon to be under Sonys control, it should be interesting to see how they choose to utilize it in the future for both Sony Online Entertainment games and the PSN. Stay tuned and well update you when we have more.
