by on Jun 10, 2011

Spanish police have arrested three alleged Anonymous hackers relating to the Sony network breach last April.

The three were arrested Friday on alleged charges of cyber-attacks against Sony, governments and a number of businesses and banks according to a Reuters report. The three men reportedly are in their 30s and were arrested in Barcelona. Reports also state that a server in one of the suspects homes was used to take part in attacks on "two major Spanish banks, the Italian energy company Enel and the governments of Egypt, Algeria, Libya, Iran, Chile, Colombia and New Zealand."

Anonymous has repeatedly denied involvement in the Sony attacks, which compromised the details of more than 100 million accounts between the Playstation network and Sony Online Entertainment services and prompted several government investigations and litigation.
