Star Wars Battlefront Foregoes Single Player Campaign

EA COO Peter Moore explains why Battlefront chose to forego the single player campaign.

If you were hoping for a single player campaign in the hotly anticipated Star Wars Battlefront game... sorry. EA COO Peter Moore confirmed in an interview with Gamespot that a single player mode was never even in the development plans for Battlefront. The reason for this was plainly stated by Moore in the linked interview.

...very few people actually play the single-player on these kinds of games. That's what the data points to.

Presumably he's going off of data gathered from EA's other similar titles, including Call of Duty and Battlefield which both have single player campaigns that tend to get skipped over if they're not being ridiculed first. Of course this is Star Wars, an IP with a massive popular story behind it which makes it somewhat confusing that they chose this title to start chopping off single player campaigns. How much of the story makes it into the multiplayer experience will be found out when the game launches on November 17th.
