Taric Confirmed to Be Receiving a Full Rework

No word yet on whether or not he gets to keep his fuzzy boots.

Taric has occupied a bizarre space in League of Legends for a long time now. As an incredibly niche pick, it's been widely recognized that he generally doesn't offer a lot when compared to other supports, and is clearly out-dated. Yet, due to those times where he can be an effective pick, combined with his unique personality, there are a fair number of fans who love the champion as he is.

Those fans are going to have to brace themselves, because according to RiotRepertoir, the Gem Knight is going to be the recipient of a complete overhaul:

"Taric's design work was actually finished early this year, but he's getting the full deal as far as updates go: model, animations, effects, sounds, lore, icons, gameplay.

He'll be a Sion-level rework, and he should probably come late this year or early next year.

I did his game design work, so if you hate it when it hits PBE, feel free to let me know then."

For those worried that Taric will lose his identity as an armor-stacking Support, fear not, as RiotRepertoir continued on to state that Taric: "Still heals (more I think?) Still has an Armor buff Still has Armor scaling"

As one of the most dated champions currently in the League, there's no question that Taric could use some love. It seems Riot still wants to keep his core gameplay identity, though we'll have to wait to see if it it's truly outrageous.
